How To > Gear
maintenance Hand Piece I would have to say that I find hand pieces in general very
reliable, but now & then they can become a bit sticky due to a few
grains of sand, or some other foreign body in the mechanism. Most Euro
hand pieces mechanisms come apart quite easily. With this Omer it's as
simple as pushing out the stainless pin in the back, pushing in the safety
turn it round until it's pointing down & then the safety should pop
out. Then pull the mechanism up from the back out of the hand piece. Be
careful, the small stainless pins fall out quite easy, maybe taking it
apart above a towel or something similar. Most South African shafts have a smooth curving notch which
doesn't seem to aggravate the Dyneema in the same way. Riffe Clipping onto the gun Probably the most common method of connecting the floatline
to the gun is using a shark clip. Which are light, tuff & cheap. But
they don't latch on some skewers that well. The dog clip is another popular
method.
